Biography

Maslovskaya Aleksandra

Native of Russia, Aleksandra Maslovskaya completed her Master’s and Doctoral studies (Aspirantura) at the prestigious Saint-Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in Russia with special emphasis in composition, musicology and pedagogy. She studied primarily with Prof. Gennadiy Banshchikov and Prof. Petr Chernobrivets.

Aleksandra Maslovskaya is an author of works in various genres, including chamber concert, vocal-symphonic cycle "Sirin and Alkonost. A song of Joy and Sadness", vocal cycle "Birds of Paradise", piano sonata and variations, Three pieces for string quartet, instrumental and vocal miniatures. She made her composition debut with Kaliningrad Philharmonic in 2002. Since that time her works was performed in different Russian cities (St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kaliningrad) including performances in St. Petersburg Glazunov Hall, Moscow International House of Music (The Chamber Hall). And also in Europe: in Poland (Galchinsky Museum, Prane) and Austria (Bruckner Concert Hall, Linz).

She has received awards and honors from several composer and musicological competitions and conferences. Including the premium of the Russian Ministry of Culture in the competition “Young talent of Russia”. In 2013 she visited the Wagner festival in Bayreuth (Germany) as a Wagner Society Scholar. Some works published in the russian internet publications.

As musicologist Aleksandra Maslovskaya repeatedly participated in scientific conferences and readings. A number of articles published in the magazines "Music and Time" (Moscow), "Musicus" (St. Petersburg) and on the site «Gnessin Russian Academy of Music" (Moscow). In 2012 and 2014 she participated in the interviews and performances on the radio "Russian world" (Moscow) and "Radio Russia" (St. Petersburg) (listen).

The Sonata and Variations for piano were released in 2022 by the St. Petersburg publishing house "Kompozitor". The vocal cycle "Birds of Paradise" was recorded by Lukas Lützow on March 7, 2023 at the Future Lab at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
